Guide
Getting the address and owner details
The title register is the official record for a property. It's public, and anyone can order one. It shows the property's address or description, the registered owner, what they paid (where recorded), and any mortgages or restrictions.
Click the title number
Find the property in the Listings and click its title number — for example WYK456340. HM Land Registry's search opens in a new tab, and the title number is copied for you.
Sign in and search
Sign in to HM Land Registry (the first time, create a free account). Then paste the title number into the search box and search.
Buy the register
Select the title register. It costs £7 as a download. The title plan, which shows the boundary on a map, is a further £7 if you want it.
Download it
You'll get a PDF straight away. The address is in the property section at the top.
Good to know
- Fees are set by HM Land Registry and were last changed on 9 December 2024. Check GOV.UK for the current fee.
- The register is a snapshot on the day you download it. For a company in insolvency, charges and restrictions can change quickly.
- Your subscription terms don't allow using this data for direct marketing to the registered owner. See the terms.
What the insolvency types mean
- Administration — an administrator runs the company to rescue it or get a better result for creditors than liquidation would.
- Compulsory liquidation — the court has ordered the company wound up, usually on a creditor's petition.
- Creditors' voluntary liquidation — the directors and creditors have resolved to wind the company up because it can't pay its debts.
